US apprehends White House fence jumper

WASHINGTON - The Secret Service has apprehended a man who climbed over the White House fence.
Spokesman Ed Donovan says the unidentified man was immediately taken into custody Tuesday evening by Secret Service agents who guard the White House complex around the clock.
The man had a backpack with him, and Donovan says it was being examined for possible explosive material.
President Barack Obama was believed to be in the White House at the time.
