"We have put our personnel on full alert and have strengthened the security around the US embassy at Chanakyapuri in south Delhi. The special security measures were put in place soon after US President Barrack Obama announced the killing of Osama bin Laden Monday morning. We are taking the matter very seriously," the news service quoted an unnamed senior police official as saying.

Senior police officials would be reviewing and personally supervising security arrangements, said the report.

Osama bin Laden was killed early Monday morning by US special forces in a military operation in Abbottabad of Pakistan.
