Five themes for a trip to Guangyuan

Shu Road

Between rocks in a hard place

Guangyuan was a place of conflicts and wars in ancient times. As a result, more than 140 historical relics can be found here. Jianmen Pass used to guard against intruders, and Zhaohua ancient town is one of the best preserved sites featuring elements of the Three Kingdoms.

Environment

The city abounds with natural beauty. You can see the sublime Qinling-Daba mountain range as you climb Micang Mountain, see pandas at the Tangjiahe nature reserve, enjoy the karst landform and get away from the heat at Zengjia Mountain.

Empress Wu Zetian

Find references and traces of China's only female emperor Wu Zetian in a cold noodle dish named after her, in a local female festival, in the Phoenix Building in which she is said to have been born, and in Huangze Temple.

Red tourism

The city is home to many Red Army sites, including the Cangxi Red Army Ferry and places where military conferences were held and war was waged. In addition, thousands of messages engraved in stone hark back to the long struggle of the Red Army.

Rural tourism

You can visit many beautiful villages in Guangyuan to savor local folk customs. Cangxi Pear village, Zengjia Mountain, Longtanshan Agriculture Park and Yinping village are among them.
