Lu'an to boost tourism resources

A meeting to promote tourism in Lu'an city, Anhui province, was held in Beijing on April 1.
The meeting was sponsored by the city government, and undertaken by the Lu'an tourism and agriculture committee, as well as the Shucheng county government.
The tourism committee introduced special tourism resources and five travel routes in Lu’an, while the Shucheng government showcased the picturesque views at Wanfu Lake.
At the meeting, Lu'an and the Beijing tourism development committee signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Relevant tourism companies also signed deals to strengthen cooperation. More than 300 people attended the meeting.
Lu'an covers an area of 18,000 square kilometers and is home to a population of 7.1 million. It was named a model city for its living environment, water treatment, land transportation, civility and hygiene.
Last year, the city received 24.12 million tourists, up 26 percent over the previous year. Total tourism revenue stood at 16.3 billion yuan ($2.6 billion), up 25 percent over the previous year.
