Stunningly beautiful scenery makes The Maldives a favorite honeymoon paradise for many, but few actually pay much attention to the waste problem there.
When filmmaker Alison Teal, from Hawaii, saw the amount of plastic waste washed up on the idyllic white shores while she was staying in the Maldives, she was shocked.
Accompanied by Australian photographer Mark Tipple and his colleague Sarah Lee, the three took a series of astounding images and footage to document the luxury destination's waste problem.
