After it emerged that former Inter coach Jose Mourinho is set to become Manchester United's manager next season, Louis van Gaal has broken his silence on the matter.
The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford after leading the Netherlands to third place in the 2014 World Cup but his spell has proved underwhelming, with Saturday's FA Cup win the only triumph of his regime.
The Red Devils were knocked out at the Group Stage of this season's Champions League, whilst they have failed to qualify for next year's competition.
With rumours of Mourinho's impending arrival seemingly all but confirmed, van Gaal admitted that his time with Manchester United had come to an end.
"It's over," the former Ajax and Barcelona tactician told Sky Sports, as he left United's hotel following their FA Cup victory.
The Red Devils snatched a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in extra-time to earn a first FA Cup win since 2004, but it does not appear to have been enough for the Dutchman to keep hold of his job.
Meanwhile, Portuguese tactician Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in December.
