Radwanska crashes out of Wuhan Open after three-set thriller

WUHAN - France's Caroline Garica continued her giant-killing run at the WTA Wuhan Open when she beat fifth seeded Agnieszka Radwanska in three sets in the second round on Monday.
Garica, who knocked out Venus Williams in the opening round on Sunday, stunned Radwanska 3-6, 7-6(4), 7-6(7) to reach the third round.
On Sunday, seven-time Grand Slam champion Williams fell victim to Garica in the first round after a three-set thriller.
A couple of seeded players also suffered first round exit here Monday. The 12th-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia, the Australia Open finalist, retired ahead of the kickoff of the deciding set with the score remaining at 6-4, 3-6 against the American player Madison Keys.
Fourteenth-seeded Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic lost to Sabine Lisicki of Germany 5-7, 6-2, 3-6. Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia eased past 15th-seeded Italian veteran Flavia Pennetta 6-1, 6-4.
