Sharapova hires Groeneveld as coach

BRADENTON, United States - Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova has hired Sven Groeneveld as her coach.

"I'm happy to announce my official partnership with Sven Groeneveld," Sharapova, former world No. 1 and now ranked fourth in the world, said on Thursday.

Groeneveld, from the Netherlands, had coached Monica Seles and Mary Pierce.
