Dave Duerson, who played on Super Bowl winners with the Chicago Bears and New York Giants, was found dead Thursday night at his home in Miami in southeastern Florida, United States.

Duerson, 50, committed suicide with a gun shot to the chest, which left his brain undamaged, said detective Robert Williams, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department. No immediate cause of death was given.

Duerson's pro football career was filled with accomplishments. He was a four-time Pro Bowl (all-star game) safety of the US National Football League (NFL) and two-time Super Bowl champion.
