Tommy Robredo defeated Ukraine player Tarkovsky at the first Grand Slam in 2011 Australian Open after a four-game fierce competition. A reversed score 3-1(5-7/6-2/6-4/6-2) helped the Spanish squeeze into top 16 of man's singles.
Robredo and Tarkovsky shared the victories of two hard-court encounters in America two years ago, but the ERKE sponsored Robredo surely had a stronger baseline ability this time. The Spanish saved 15 breaks and won 8 to pass the tough competition.
In the next round Rebredo will confront seed No 2 Roger Federer. The ERKE armor will hopefully once again bring him good luck, and the EREK spirit "To be No 1" will continue hovering the Australian Open.
