BEIJING -- Artur Ershov from professional team LOK secured the top place of men's point race event at the Beijing stop of UCI track cycling World Cup here on Sunday.

The 20-year-old Ershov collected a winning total of 35 points through the race to claim the highest step of the podium. The 31-year-old veteran Alexei Markov from Russian trailed by five points to get the silver. Claudio Imhof, representing Switzerland, made 23 points and took home the bronze.

Three medallists established their victory by overlapping the other riders in the later half of the competition. All other cyclists failed their attempt to accomplish the overlapping.
