Sanchez wins women's keirin at UCI World Cup

BEIJING -- Clara Sanchez of France won the title of women's keirin event after a thrilling sprint at the Beijing stop of UCI track cycling World Cup here on Sunday.

Sanchez followed other riders in the earlier half of the race, and delivered a powerful dash in the final sprint to claim the victory. Shulika Lyubov, who won a gold the day before, lost by a tiny margin to take the silver.

British teenager Rebecca Angharad James brought home the bronze medal.
