Sireau claims gold on men's sprint at UCI World Cup

BEIJING -- French cycling star Kevin Sireau accomplished an easy victory on men's sprint event at Beijing UCI track cycling World Cup here on Sunday.

It was Sireau's second straight World Cup victory, and the 23-year-old secured the top spot on UCI World Cup standing after Sunday's dominant performance.

German rider Sebastian Doehrer took the silver medal, making his first World Cup podium show on the sprint event.

Local favourite Zhang Miao fought back to beat Peter Mitchell and pocketed the bronze.
