Whitten tops women's omnium at UCI World Cup

BEIJING -- Tara Whitten from Canada won the women'omnium at the Beijing stop of UCI track cycling World Cup here on Sunday.

The 30-year-old veteran made herself into the the top three on four of the six events to grab the gold. After winning the Beijing stop, Whitten continued her leading position in UCI World Cup series after three stops.

Kirsten Wild from the Netherlands got the second place and French rider Pascale Jeuland earned the third place.
