Comment on "HK leader says protests hatched for more than year" (China Daily website, Oct 16)
No matter who or which group started the chaotic "Occupy Central" movement in Hong Kong, there is no denying that blocking the flow of public traffic is a violation of law. No individual or group has the right to break the law for personal or sectarian gains and expect to escape legal action.
By continuing the farce of "Occupy Central", the protesters are hurting Hong Kong residents - they have disrupted residents' lives and hurt their livelihoods. The protesters want to promote their version of better governance in Hong Kong, but through the protests they are parodying themselves and proving the opposite.
