Parents, education system to blame

Comment on "China's 'little emperors' are no risk takers" (China Daily, Jan 11)
Parents as well as the unbalanced education system should be blamed for the situation. Children should be encouraged to strive for all things in life, not just test scores.
Competition and hard work are crucial to students' development and success. But parents and schools should not be obsessed with test scores. If children and youths pay attention to only test scores, they will become more lazy and less independent than their foreign peers.
