The event featured new choices for Beijing residents, including Canadian pork and Saporito canola oil, that are being introduced into the supermarket.
Dave Murphy, commercial minister at Canada's embassy in China, spoke at the kick-off news conference for the festival, sharing his love for his country's food and lifestyle.
Delicacies with Canadian pork and Saporito canola oil were prepared by Gu Zhihui, chief Chinese cuisine chef at Ritz-Carlton Beijing; Sugino Takashi, executive with BHG Market Place; and Dantonio Saverio, executive chef with restaurant of Italian luxury brand 10 Corso Como.
BHG Market Place with Beijing SKP has officially started selling Canadian pork and Saporito canola oil. Through Nov 29, restaurants in Beijing SKP and the supermarket will hold a series of tasting events to promote the two ingredients, and from Nov 19 to 29, consumers will get free samples if they spend a certain amount of money at Beijing SKP.
