Degree in Economics-Licenciate at the faculty of economics, University of Porto
Postgraduate in European Studies with University of Macau & Free University of Brussels
Masters degree in European Studies with University of Macau
Career:
1983-1993: Macao Government Tourist Administration, reaching position of deputy director in 1989, a position held until 1993.
1993-1999: President of Leal Senado (Macao Municipal Council), equivalent to mayor.
1999-2001: President of Macao's Provisional Municipal Council, a transitional body that was abolished in 2001;
2002-: President of the Institute of European Studies of Macau.
Book: Poetry by Fernando Pessoa.
Films: Lawrence of Arabia and latest Clint Eastwood directed-masterpieces such as Gran Torino.
Music: Hard to choose, but African beats, some popular Brazilian music and old-time jazz.
Food: "Spice is life and Macanese food is the best in the world!"
Hobbies: Photography, watching movies and reading. "History and politics is what I spend most of my time with. I deal with my research work as almost a hobby."
