Actresses Li Xiaolu and Gan Wei have set up a studio to produce the Chinese version of Lipstick Jungle. The comedy-drama series, titled Ladies' League, will be released on leading video website Letv.com.
It revolves around four women's love lives and careers in Beijing. Filming will start in July. It is the first time 33-year-old Li, star of Joan Chan's Xiu Xiu: the Sent Down Girl, in 1998, will work as a producer.
Letv.com will work with the studio to launch more film projects, says Zhang Zhao, CEO of the website.
