Love on the Covered Bridges, a romantic film set in Shouning, Fujian province, premiered on March 23.
The film is about Beilu Opera performers, in Shouning.
Shouning boasts a number of covered bridges. With enclosed sides and a roof, they often accommodate only a single lane of traffic. They have been a trademark of the county, which hosted the second international conference on Chinese covered bridges in September 2007.
The film won four nominations for best director, feature film, original music and art design at the 28th Golden Rooster Awards, the mainland's top film awards. Director Chen Li won the best director award.
