Jolin Tsai was spotted this week shopping with model vivian Dawson in London. |
When scammers offered the general manager of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala Ha Wen free tickets to the show, an Apple laptop and more than 80,000 yuan ($12,700), they picked on the wrong lady.
She knew full well there was no such lucky prize and posted messages on her micro blog telling anyone who would listen to be careful of falling for some golden lines without reading between them.
"It seems the tricksters are really everywhere, and I just caught them out red-handed," she was reported as saying on Tom.com.
Not to be outdone, Li Weijia, a TV anchor at the Hunan TV show Happy Citadel, responded that he had recently had a similar experience and warned netizens to keep their wits about them.
All this goes to show what a dangerous place the Web can be for innocents. So, we also want to point out that if you're offered something that is just too good to be true for nothing - then it is more than likely not true and good for nothing.
Last week, we ran a story about Makiyo, a celebrity who is famous for having ample breasts, telling dirty stories on variety shows and ... that's about it.
She and her Japanese boyfriend, Takateru Tomoyori, beat up a taxi driver in Taipei so badly that he ended up in intensive care. She lied about the incident but was caught out when a video of the assault ended up in prosecutors' hands. As a result, Makiyo and her boyfriend faced, respectively, four and six years in prison.
Now, it seems Makiyo will instead make a private settlement, after her cancer-stricken mother made repeated visits to the wife of the taxi driver and reportedly managed to convince them that it would be in their interest to accept money from them and drop the charges.
Meanwhile, even sadder in a way, it is rumored that Tomoyori has proposed marriage to Makiyo, and she has accepted because she was so touched by the fact that he lied to the police and public by claiming he was the only one to beat up the taxi driver. And he is the only boyfriend she has ever had who has admitted it. For the record, Makiyo has supposedly dated stars and rich youth such as Show Luo, OD and Milton Chiu- none of whom has owned up to the fact.
Finally, on this subject, prosecutors are considering whether Makiyo's talent agency, headed up by TV show host Hsieh Chen-wu, is guilty of perjury, as it admits it was behind the drafting of a press released denying culpability when news of the attack on the taxi driver first came out. In response, the agency is saying Makiyo duped them.
On a happier note, songbird Jolin Tsai has emerged from hiding her love and admitted (sort of) that she is dating the model Vivian Dawson. The pair jetted into London for a Valentine's Day free of paparazzi, but was unfortunately snapped by a fan going midnight shopping, who then posted the pic online.
Dawson also publicly acknowledged the couple's relationship for the first time on his micro blog that day with a simple note addressed to Tsai saying: "Happy Valentine's Day."
