Fearne Cotton has called off her engagement to Jesse Jenkins.
The Radio 1 DJ - who first started dating the US skateboarder in 2006 - split from her on-off boyfriend for good last month after getting engaged last September on Fearne's 29th birthday.
A spokesperson for the 29-year-old star confirmed: "Sadly their relationship came to a mutual end last month. There is ¬no one else involved."
Despite calling time on the relationship, Fearne - who has dated the likes of 'US X Factor' host Steve Jones and The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard in the past - is said to be "very sad" after coming to realise her romance with Jesse wasn't working.
A friend of the couple told reporter: "It just wasn't meant to be. The same problems that were there ¬before were still there and once the ring was on Fearne's finger she ¬realised it wasn't ¬going to last. She's very sad about it but they are going to try to remain friends."
In the past, Fearne - who is best friends with 'This Morning' host and mum-of-two Holly Willoughby - admitted she was hoping to follow in the footsteps of her pal and have a family of her own one day.
She said: "Having a family of my own is really important, more than anything.
"It's about finding a life partner who's your best friend. What's the point of doing great things at work if you don't have someone to share it with?"
