A group of Chinese folk singers recently proved music can not only amuse the ear. More importantly, it can make a difference in the world.
A benefit concert, featuring the original songs of four singers and bands, went off splendidly at Lang Park Vintage in CBD Beijing on Sept 16.
During the two-hour performance, artists read children's stories, played their newest works and shared the stage with kids from the audience.
Organized by the One Way Street Foundation, the show aims to facilitate pre-school education for children in rural China.
All sales income will be donated to 5 nursery schools in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. For every ticket sold, one picture book will be purchased by the foundation.
By Sept 18, the organization has received over 100,000 yuan ($15,270) through ticket sales, online crowdfunding and webcasting platforms.
