Journalists are delving into the historical and cultural tourism resources showcasing the Three Kingdoms culture in Jingzhou city, Central China's Hubei province.

Jingzhou is the first leg of the media tour "Exploring the ancient Chu culture" for digital media professionals from August 9 to 14.

Formerly known as "Jiangling" or "Shashi", has a history of more than 2,600 years.

It was among the first group of 24 National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities in China, and it was also the center of the Three Kingdoms (220-280 AD) culture.

Many popular Three Kingdoms stories happened in Jingzhou and the cultural relics unearthed here are evidence of that.

The journalists started the tour of Jingzhou ancient city at Guangong Park.

The gigantic bronze statue Guangong weighs over 1,200 tons. Holding a 70-meter long knife in its hand, Guangong has become a symbol of the park. It's the largest Guanggong statue in the world.

Guangong, also known as Guan Yu, was a general serving under the warlord Liu Bei during the period of the Three Kingdoms. In folk culture, Chinese classical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and other Three Kingdoms fiction portrays him as the noble and dignified oath brother for Liu Bei and Zhang Fei.

Thus, the park has "righteousness" as its theme and shows Guangong's righteous life in various ways.

The journalists also made a visit to the Jingzhou ancient city wall in the vicinity of Guangong Park.

Historically, Jingzhou has been an important military site with ancient city walls since the Qin Dynasty, but stories from the period of the Three Kingdoms made the city and its ancient walls famous.

Although the ancient city wall was destroyed and rebuilt several times in history, it is now still well preserved and has become a famous scenic area.

The live show Guangong returning to Jingzhou and Liu Bei' s Wedding are must-see performances here.
