Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" topped box office in North America with an estimated 62.2 million U.S. dollars during its debut in Memorial Day weekend.

The fifth installment of the "Pirates" franchise stars Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and Javier Bardem as the villainous Captain Salazar. The film earned 208.4 million U.S. dollars internationally this weekend and when combined with the 62.2 million U.S. dollars in North America, the global weekend brought in an impressive 270.6 million U.S. dollars.

An expected global four day of over 300 million U.S. dollars will push the franchise through the 4 billion U.S. dollars threshold in the coming days, according to Studio figures collected by comScore.

Disney and Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" was still in the second place with an estimated 19.9 million U.S. dollars in North America in its third weekend. The Marvel's superhero sequel has earned a whopping 783 million U.S. dollars globally.

Paramount's "Baywatch" opened in third place. The R-rated comedy directed by Seth Gordon and starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron as the iconic lifeguards in a comedic take on the TV series, drew an estimated 18.1 million in its debut weekend and totally 26.6 million U.S. dollars since its Thursday opening.

20th Century Fox's "Alien: Covenant" moved to the fourth place with an estimated 10.5 million U.S. dollars in its second week in release.

Warner Bros.' teen romance "Everything, Everything" finished fifth with an estimated 6.18 million U.S. dollars in North America in its second weekend.
