The makers of an upcoming movie aim to select the cast from more than 2,000 students who have attended the Beijing Film Academy, one of China's most prestigious universities.

Wang Jinsong, deputy head of the Performance Institute at Beijing Film Academy, will direct the movie, The Angry Bunnies, a live-action romance comedy.

The feature-length movie is based on the fairy tale A Bunny Has a Glass Heart, which has gone viral since it was released online in 2012.

Wang, also a veteran acting teacher with a career spanning 28 years, says that the actors will be selected from the students he has taught over the past three decades.

Filming will start in April.
