Magical creations
A young couple is giving the Mongolian felted wool tradition a makeover
In 2012, Xie Jia'ning from Heilongjiang province's Qiqihar married a Mongolian, Gankhuyag. Xie then started to show a keen interest in the Mongolian felted wool tradition. Over the past few years, Xie and her husband have been working on wool produced by their Mongolian relatives, and have painstaking devoted themselves to researching the traditional art. Their handmade felted wool products now feature innovative designs, and are quite a hit among a small group of customers. Recently, well-known designers and manufacturers have contacted them in a bid to collaborate with them. Hopefully, this will result in some unique creations.
