The show of exquisite jewelry from the collection of Qatar Museums celebrates the advancements made in pearl processing from the ancient to modern times. Highlights include a pair of earrings that the late Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor wore and six crowns from royal families in Europe.
Qatar Museums run several museums and art galleries in that country.
The National Museum of China will also have two of its pearl antiques at the exhibition, including a helmet of Qing Emperor Qianlong and a crown made for a Ming empress. Curated by Hubert Bari, the exhibition will run from Sept 27 to Jan 8, 2017, as part of this year's Qatar-China cultural exchanges.
Held at the Qatar Museums' Gallery Alriwaq, What About Art, a four-month-long Chinese contemporary art show ended on Saturday.
