In Between the Times is a solo exhibition by Shanghai-based artist Zhou Yunxia, reviewing the 30-year evolution of his art.
Zhou, 58, has consistently demonstrated a surrealistic style in his paintings and other mixed media works.
His life — shaped by experiences shared by many of his generation — reflect on his art.

Zhou was sent to the countryside during the "cultural revolution" (1966-76), and later became a chef. His interest in art led him to participate in art movements.
His early paintings from the 1980s, are critical of social issues at the time, and presented in a highly expressive style.
Zhou introduced multiple materials to reflect the changing cultural identity of Chinese people in his later works.
The exhibition will be held at the Shanghai Gallery of Art from April 16 to May 12.
