The production team of Riverdance from Ireland has authorized the Chinese Taihua Angel Art Troupe to perform music from the drama in public for free on October 21, 2012. Members of the troupe are all handicapped artists.
Zhang Ligang, who is in charge of Riverdance's Chinese tour, said the team will donate RMB10 yuan to Taihua for each ticket sold. It is expected that 10,000 tickets will be sold in Beijing this year when Riverdance stages at the Beijing Exhibition Center from Dec 30 to Jan 2, 2013.
After an 18-year world tour, Riverdance will hold its farewell tour in China. The last stop of the tour in China is in Shanghai, and could possibly be the last performance in the world. A new version of Riverdance, Heart Beat of Home, will stage in China in 2013. More Chinese elements will be seen in the new drama.
