While northerners are complaining about the extreme cold, the southerners in Guangzhou of Guangdong province are enjoying the appearance of first snow in the tropical city in 88 years.
Some Guangzhou residents even managed to make snowmen over the weekend although the flakes were small and didn't really stick. Their work, of course, was popsicle-sized.
One Weibo user, obviously from northern China, jokingly commented that the snowballs they use in snow fights are bigger than the snowman.
"But we all know that you tried really hard," said Erbiqignnianzheyangguo.
Another user Wanger advised people to take more photos because this could probably be the last chance to see snow in their life.
"I'm sorry but in the northeast, we are creating snow sculptures," said Shanjijisen.
The comment drew reaction from the southerners with one saying"unfortunately northerners can never experience the joy we felt".
