Huamao and nearby Gouba villages in Fengxiang township, Zunyi county are one of China's red revolution bases where Chairman Mao's leadership was established.
"I started doing some chores in Zunyi with only five yuan in pocket when I was 17 because back then my family was very poor," said 52-year-old Wang, "I went back to my village in 2002 because my parents started growing old and I had to take care of my children."
Wang's earlier days at home got off to a bumpy start and things didn't get better until the local government adopted policies to develop the countryside in an-all round way when Wang spent more than 100,000 yuan in September 2014 transforming his farmhouse into a two-storey restaurant featuring countryside delicacies, the first farmhouse restaurant in Huamao.
