About 100 marriage experts and wedding industry professionals from China and Korea gathered in Beijing Thursday to discuss wedding planning in the Internet era.
The forum was jointly held by the Beijing College of Social Administration and the Korean Society of Wedding Industry.
Those at the two-day forum discussed a variety of perspectives in the wedding industry, including the inheritance of Chinese traditional weddings and the development of creative weddings.
"The forum aims at promoting wedding culture, and being innovative to cater to the current needs of society," Zou Wenkai, president of the Beijing College of Social Administration, said.
"Korean culture and fashion are very popular among Chinese youth and affect wedding culture. More Chinese couples go to Korea for their weddings," said Wang Xiaomei, dean of the college’s Department of Civil Administration.
"We will cooperate with Korea’s wedding industry, sending students and teachers to enhance communication," Wang said, adding that Korean industries have realized the business opportunities and seek for more cooperation.
"It is a win-win situation," Wang said.
The Beijing College of Social Administration, as the first college in China to open a wedding service planning and administration program in 2007, has trained more than 700 graduates.
