Beijing will try out an all-in-one card for regional public transport on 139 bus lines on Sunday, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport said.
The pilot project involves six cities: Beijing, Tianjin and Zhangjiakou, Langfang, Baoding and Shijiazhuang in Hebei, Beijing Daily reported. Thirty-nine of the bus lines will run from the capital to cities in Hebei.
This is the first step in the establishment of an integrated public transport system in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. By 2017, residents in the region will be able to use a single transport card for all buses and subways.
