China•Yunnan news page launched in Bangkok

The China•Yunnan (Thailand) news page published by Yunnan Daily Press Group(YDPG) and the Nation of Thailand was launched in Bangkok Tuesday, marking a new step in the cooperation between YDPG and Thai mainstream media.
Veera Rojpojchanarat, Cultural Minister of Thailand, Wu Zhiwu, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, Pana Janviroj, president of Nation News Network, as well as representatives from YDPG and Nation News Network witnessed the launching ceremony.
China•Yunnan will be published twice every month as a news page of the Nation newspaper in Thailand. It will be edited, translated and prepared in Yunnan by Yunnan Daily Press Group and the finished pages will be printed and published in Thailand.
The coverage of China•Yunnan will focus on the latest situation and measures of Yunnan's leap-frog development; policies and effects of social security and livelihood construction in Yunnan; harmonious and consolidated new life of all ethnic groups of Yunnan; achievements of ecological protection in Yunnan; image of Yunnan that is friendly, cohesive, open and inclusive. It is intended to improve the understanding of Thai people of all circles on Yunnan and provide information to the people of Thailand concerning investment and commerce, tourism, exchanges and visits in Yunnan so as to promote the economic and social development in both Thailand and Yunnan.
At the ceremony, both parties agreed to establish China (Yunnan)-Thailand New Media Alliance which will be a quick, comprehensive and conveniently interactive new-media platform.The New Media Alliance will be consisted of influential new media and new media groups both from China (Yunnan) and Thailand.

In the principle of "equality, friendliness, and win-win for mutual benefit", the member press entities of the Alliance will take the lead in sharing news and information between new media within the Alliance, providing linkages to the websites of the other parties on its homepages, spreading each other’s important information and interview reports, etc.
Yunnan Daily Press Group has established partnership with the US, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia since 1995, and owns 10 overseas news pages. China•Yunnan (Thailand) is the 11th news page of the group overseas.
Media is an important channel for information exchanges, a bridge for mind communication, a tie for emotion connection and a messenger of friendship. This year marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. According to experts, the China-Thailand relation has entered into a new stage of more comprehensive and rapid developments. Meanwhile, friendly exchanges and in-depth cooperation beween mainstream media of Yunnan and Thailand will definitely inject more vitality into the close relationship between the two countries.
