The national tourism watchdog released its fourth batch of records of five "uncivilized" tourists on its website on Wednesday.

The records contain the five tourists' name, gender, and the places the inappropriate behavior took place, in a bid to regulate the tourists' behavior for better image.

The China National Tourism Administration introduced the step to publicly reveal records on April 7 after several incidents involving Chinese tourists triggered controversy at home and abroad.

Since then, 16 cases of bad behavior have been recorded, according to the website.

The national tourism authority released three cases involving five tourists in the fourth batch.

Three tourists fought during the flight back to Chengdu of Sichuan province over seat adjustments, and their records will be kept for one year.

A tourist from Shanghai beat a staff member of a Japanese convenience store and his record will be kept for three years.

A tourist from Hunan province hit a tour guide's after quarrels over ticket for his child, and his record will be kept for two years.

Tourists with inappropriate behavior, including violating order on public transportation, damaging public facilities or historical relics, and becoming involved with gambling or prostitution will be recorded and exposed to the public.

The administration will tighten the management of the records, and hand them to public security, Customs, frontier inspection, transportation and banking authorities, if necessary. Tourists are allowed to appeal.
