Beijing's hospital management authority promoted more than 800 healthcare technologies developed by 22 of the city's major hospitals at the 2015 Promotion Fair on Transfer of Technologies Developed by Public Hospitals in Beijing which was held in Beijing on Friday.
The fair attracted more than 100 pharmaceutical companies and investment companies from China and abroad. Its purpose was to serve as a platform for transferring healthcare technologies from public hospitals to enterprises. The fair is the first of its kind in China. According to Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals, this will be an annual event.
The Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals released a statement saying, "Such technologies can benefit more people after transferring to companies and, in return, can help to improve the research and development of hospitals. The technologies for transfer on Friday were developed by the hospitals in the past five years and cover a wide rang of areas, including medical apparatus, diagnosis testers and bio-medicines, with some reaching world-class level. Although many public hospitals in Beijing have top talents and made many technological achievements, many of the achievements are only used at labs and have not been utilized in the market as medical staff in these hospitals are usually burdened with high clinical workload and have little time and energy to find an outlet for these technologies."
