Brothers in arms honored for blood donations

About 400 Shanghai residents and enterprises have been honored for their contribution to the city's blood donation work.
Shanghai collected about 1.85 million units, or about 370,000 liters, of blood between 2011 and 2014 through more than 1.34 million donations. Among them, about 5,000 residents donated more than 1,000 milliliters during this period, according to the city's blood donation authorities,
These donors have made a positive contribution to meet the city's medical clinical use of blood and save patient's lives, an official said.
The city's Minhang, Songjiang and Yangpu districts were also honored for their achievements in promoting blood donation.
