Women volunteers mark International Volunteer Day

More than 700,000 officials from women's federations across China celebrated the 30th International Volunteer Day with women volunteers in communities on Saturday.
Dec 5 marks International Volunteer Day. In Beijing, activities such as assisting disabled elderly people, promoting community activity in the neighborhood and helping low-income families were held in 16 communities.
Other activities were held in other provinces, including Fujian and Shandong province. According to All-China Women's Federation, China has 9.7 million women volunteers.
