Canadian searches for online sweetheart in Shenzhen
A 60-year-old Canadian man traveled all the way to China's Shenzhen to search for his online Chinese sweetheart, Shenzhen-based Jingbao Newspaper reported.
Jake Malone said he met a Shenzhen woman with the online alias RILI, who claimed to be 45-year-old working in a garment manufacturing company, on an online dating site about a year ago. They sent 300 emails to each other via the website, and they both used translation tools to understand each other's words. " I wrote poems for her. She said she loves me, and although she is not a perfect woman, she is perfect for me, " Malone said.
But since the website blocks all personal information, Malone doesn't know RILI's address or cellphone number. And RILI claimed that her work was really busy and sometimes couldn't reply to him for dozens of days, so Malone decided to go to China to find her. " We talked about living together," said Malone.
In the past 14 days, Jake has been living in a Shenzhen hotel. He said he won't give up, and hopes RILI could contact him once she reads the reports.
