Mahogany 'Lamborghini roadster' wows collectors
A craftsman in Putian city of Fujian province carved a car out of mahogany and added tires, an engine and other mechanical components, Fujian-based news website fjsen.com reported.
Yu Jietao, a wood carver, designed and made the car himself, by carving pieces of the car and assembling them, as well as adding decorative carvings to it. The car looks like a Lamborghini roadster and is equipped with an electric motor that can run at 30 kilometers per hour. It took him more than half a year to make and cost him 100,000 yuan.
Some collectors have contacted him offering up to 220,000 yuan for the car, said Yu.
