Geek makes fortune from 'joke'
A student at Nanjing University of Posts and Communications has earned money by creating a mock website and even won the chance to work for a world-famous IT company, reported kq.dsqq.cn on Thursday.
Xi Jiawei's joke website attracted a large number of viewers and also the attention of Internet giants Baidu and Google, bringing him advertisements worth roughly 100,000 yuan ($16,343) a year. This summer, Xi, who is not an IT major, obtained a much-coveted internship e-commerce giant Alibaba. He said he wanted to create a better life using his computer skills.
