Seven Vietnamese women were trafficked as members of the Miao ethnic group from Yunnan province to middle-aged men for marriage in Xianju county, Zhejiang province, Today Morning Express reported on Monday.
The women were sold in 2011 for more than 300,000 yuan ($48,996) by a five-man trafficking gang. Four members of the gang came from Yunnan and the other came from Xianju county.
The county court recently heard the trafficking case and sentenced the five traffickers to sentences ranging from six to 12 years with four receiving sentences of more than 10 years.
