Chinese military official meets US Air Force officer

BEIJING - Vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission Xu Qiliang met with Mark Welsh, the chief of staff of the US Air Force, on Thursday.
Xu said the two sides have reached a consensus on developing a new model of military-to-military relations based on the new model of Sino-U.S.relations, setting a clear goal for development of bilateral military relations in the future.
Xu said China is willing to make joint efforts with the US side to enhance communication and cooperation between the air forces of the two countries, and to positively influence the new model of Sino-U.S. military relations.
Welsh said the US is committed to strengthening communication and cooperation with the Chinese military, and he also looks forward to promoting US-China military ties.
