BEIJING - Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Saturday met with visiting Republic of Korea (ROK) President Park Geun-hye, with the two countries looking to increase people-to-people exchanges.
Liu said she is happy about the two countries' decision to set up a China-ROK joint committee on people-to-people exchanges.
China would like to work with the ROK to increase such exchanges, particularly those between young people, so as to lay down a solid foundation for bilateral relations, Liu said.
Liu also reviewed Park's consensus with Chinese leaders on developing bilateral relations.
Park said her visit, which started on Thursday, helped enhance trust and friendship with China's leaders and would promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in all fields.
After the meeting, Park delivered a speech at the prestigious Tsinghua University.
Park arrived in Beijing on Thursday for her first state visit to China since taking office in February. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Park reached a series of agreements during their talks on Thursday.
