BEIJING - China is willing to work with the United States to cope with current economic difficulties and promote global economy recovery, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said at a Tuesday press briefing.
Spokesman Hong Lei made the remarks when asked if an upcoming meeting between the presidents of both sides will cover economic issues.
President Xi Jinping will meet with US President Barack Obama in the United States on June 7 and 8.
Both sides will engage in deep strategic communication on issues pertaining to bilateral relations, including economic issues, according to Hong.
"We have always held that the recovery of the US economy will benefit the world economy," he said, adding that China is restructuring its own economy in order to promote sound development.
"We have planned a reasonable economic growth package this year and the current overall economic situation is favorable," he said.
