A primary school headmaster and a government employee in Wanning city, Hainan province, were detained by police on Saturday for assaulting six schoolgirls, Legal Daily reported on Monday.
The girls, all in sixth grade, went missing on Wednesday.
Parents and teachers found four of the girls in Haikou, nearly 160 km away from Wanning, on Thursday, as one of the girls escaped to her relative's home in Haikou.
Through information provided by the girls, parents and teachers found the other two in a resort in Wanning.
The report said that when the girls were found, they were disoriented and seemed to have suffered injuries on their arms and necks.
The case is under investigation, according to police.
