Police in Henan province have detained a suspect who allegedly crushed a farmer to death with a bulldozer in a land dispute.
An online post said that Song Heyi, a farmer in Zhongmu county, was killed when he tried to stop a bulldozer from destroying his farmland on Wednesday afternoon.
The bulldozer is owned by Hongyi International Manor, an agricultural company, and the suspect has been taken into custody, Zhongmu county government said on Thursday.
The county government did not mention the suspect's name, nor did it explain the reasons for the case.
The online post said that the company offered 800 yuan per mu ($1,930 per hectare) to contract Song's farmland, but he refused.
