Wei Hong appointed Sichuan acting governor

CHENGDU - Wei Hong was appointed acting governor of Southwest China's Sichuan province on Saturday.
The appointment was made at the 35th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, the local legislative body.
The meeting also accepted the resignation of Jiang Jufeng as Sichuan's governor.
Wei, born in May 1954, has served as vice governor of Sichuan since May 2007.
