BEIJING - China's Ministry of Public Security on Monday vowed to continue its hard line in fighting rampant Internet crime.

The ministry started a nationwide campaign in March to counter illegal online conduct such as sales of firearms, explosives and citizens' personal information.

So far, police forces around the country have arrested more than 19,000 suspects and deleted more than 3.85 million pieces of information concerning illegal trade and pornography on the Internet.

They will cooperate with other government agencies to conduct more strict supervision of the country's Internet service providers including websites, micro-blogging and online shopping portals, according to a press release issued by the ministry.
